Tip #21

casual-loafers

Loafers look best without socks. No show socks will help you keep the look and preserve the shoes.

Tip #21 Exposed:

Banana Republic amongst many other designers make socks that do not show. I know a lot of people don’t like the feel of wearing shoes without socks, so here is the solution. You can look and feel great with the no show socks. Another positive is that they help preserve the shoes AND keep them from smelling horribly. I have a few pairs and they are great. I personally like the very low cut ones just so I can be sure no part of the sock can be seen. After all that is the purpose of the no show socks, so make sure they don’t show!

Tip # 19

Suspenders

Suspenders, wearing them with a suit is cool but down with jeans is even cooler!

Tip #19 Exposed:

Suspenders, yes, suspenders with jeans or khakis can work great. They are out there, I myself have a pair of Varvatos (John) khakis with some kick ass suspenders. Of course, I take my own tip in to account and wear them down with a tee, polo or even a casual shirt. Remember, if you do have some killer suspenders you plan to wear with a pair of jeans you do need suspender buttons. I mainly use pairs that are meant for suspenders, but you can have the buttons sowed on to any pair your heart desires. Plug the suspenders in, let em hang down, and rock it!

Tip #18

Suade2

We all love our suede boots, you should waterproof and protect them, because you can!

Tip #18 Exposed:

This is one of those tips that I think people just don’t know, but should. Yes, Cole Haan and other brands sell waterproof suede boot. Guess what, they treat them the same way I am informing you about, with a suede proof spray! Furthermore, the proof does rub off even on those waterproof suede boots you bought and therefor they should be treated again over time. One more thing, I suggest you but suede that is designed beat up a bit. Like the rubbed out toe in the picture above. This way when you beat them up some more they will still just look like thats the style. Good one, huh?

Tip #17

Pant:Sock2

Your socks need to match your pants not your tie, it just looks tacky.

Tip #17 Exposed:

We all know that guy that walks in with his pink tie and exactly matching pink socks. My opinion, it looks like you are trying way to hard. I am not saying that you need to make sure they never match, you just don’t need to try to hard to make sure they do. Again, I remind you all that I just give my opinion, and you always need to make the final decision yourself. If you like to wear matching ties and socks, go for it, I just think it looks tacky (as my tip states).

Tip# 14

Belt:Shoe

The rule that your belt and shoes need to be the same color is old school, feel free to change it up.

Tip #14 Exposed:

I used to make myself crazy trying to get my shoes and belts to be exactly the same color. To the extent that I would take my shoes to the store when shopping for a belt. While many may still think they need to be the same color, this is not the case anymore (for sure). However, I do advise the colors match. Like in the above image, light brown and black do work, but I would stay away from dark brown and black. White belts go with every color so if you like colorful shoes and want a universal belt feel free to go with white. The days of making ourselves crazy for the exact color match are over!

Tip #13

jeans

If you don’t know this yet, you should, make sure to wash your jeans inside out.

Tip #13 Exposed:

As the tip says, if you are unaware of this you must know to wash your jeans as well as any of your good clothing, inside out. This helps preserve the color. Also, don’t use to much detergent! Filling up your detergent all the way to the line on its cap is to much. Trust me, the detergent company wants you using more so you buy more. This tip is a very simple one that everyone should know.

Tip #12

H-G

We all love our inbox shopping, but keep in mind it is not always the cheapest.

Tip #12 Exposed:

A great trick to getting good deals on clothing is inbox shopping (sites such as the above, that send sales to your email). Keep in mind though, that when you find something you like on one of these sites you should always google the item to see if you can find it cheaper elsewhere. There is a reason these sites are selling items at such a low price, obviously a retailer is trying to get rid of inventory they could not sell. Maybe you can find it  for cheaper from that retailer or from another discount site. Happy shopping!
